Welcome to Uppsala!

From 2–4 April 2027, we are bringing together 16 teams for a weekend filled with hockey, team spirit and a true tournament atmosphere at Gränby Ice Arenas.

The tournament is for U12 players born in 2015, is played full ice and is aimed at an intermediate to advanced level (AA).

The tournament has a long tradition and has previously been held under names including City Gross Cup, UNT Cup and Turbo Ice Hockey Challenge. In 2027, the tradition continues with the ambition of creating a well organised, fun and memorable hockey weekend for players, coaches and families.

🏟️ Two rinks · One location

Gränby A · Gränby C

One of the tournament’s major strengths is the excellent setup at Gränby. Games are played in Gränby A and C, two full size ice rinks in the same arena area and only a short walk apart.

Short distances between games
No car transfers between rinks
Easy to follow games in both rinks
One compact tournament area
Smooth logistics for players and coaches
More time for hockey and the team

A Arena – the natural main rink

The A Arena offers good spectator seating and facilities, making it a natural meeting point throughout the weekend.

📍 Uppsala – close to everything

Gränby is conveniently located only a few minutes from the E4 motorway, making the tournament easy to reach for teams travelling from both north and south.

Hotels, restaurants and IFU Arena are within walking distance. Gränbystaden, with restaurants, shopping and activities, is also only a few minutes away. Hockey, accommodation, restaurants and central Uppsala are all close by.

🔄 Group stage & continuation groups

In accordance with the rules for this age group, there will be no playoffs or knockout games. The tournament will instead be played in several phases. Teams begin in groups and then move into new continuation groups for additional games.

Our aim is to create close, developmental and exciting games throughout the weekend while retaining the feeling that the tournament enters a new phase after the initial group stage.

Important: There will be no quarterfinals, semifinals or final, and no tournament winner will be declared. All games form part of the group and continuation stages.

📅 Friday, 2 April

The tournament starts on Friday afternoon and evening. Friday games are primarily planned for Almtuna teams and teams from Uppsala and the surrounding area, allowing teams with longer journeys to arrive ahead of Saturday’s games. All teams play on Saturday and Sunday. The final schedule will be adapted to the participating teams and travel distances.

All players must be born in 2015 or later. Any exemptions must be discussed with and approved by the tournament management.
